Martin Tolhurst Solicitors appoints record number of Trainee Solicitors
KENT law firm Martin Tolhurst Solicitors has taken on an additional two new Trainee Solicitors this Summer and now has a record number of Trainee Solicitors this year.
The firm, whose head office is in Gravesend but which has 5 other offices throughout Kent, has confirmed 2 new training contracts have been awarded giving a total of 5 Trainee Solicitors currently employed by the firm.
In August & September the firm took on two trainees in Victoria Aked and Lucie Williams. Both have worked for the Firm in administration roles for over a year and have been rewarded for their work with Solicitor training contracts. 2 further training contracts have been accepted by candidates starting with the Firm in its Ashford office in April and August 2018.
Richard Carter, Managing Partner of Martin Tolhurst Solicitors, said: “We know Trainee Solicitors are the future of our firm and law firms as a profession which is why we have spent time developing a training programme that is highly regarded by our Trainees. We are committed to providing a high quality, structured training programme which I oversee as Training Principal, and it is incredibly rewarding. The training contract comprises of three seats being offered over a two year training period and early responsibility will be given and client contact is encouraged from an early stage with the required support and feedback from other members of the department. We now have 12 professional fee earners (out of 40) within the Firm who have graduated from our Training programme. Our training programme goes from strength to strength and we have been shortlisted for 2 national awards for training and development this Autumn.”
Rebecca Young, Trainee Solicitor at Martin Tolhurst Solicitors, said: “I was given a full and comprehensive period of training before I was asked to take on my own files. My supervisor is always available to ask for help and guidance, as are the other members of the department. Martin Tolhurst Solicitors also has its own online training programme which is very useful to keep up to date with the latest legal developments. I really enjoy being a trainee at Martin Tolhurst Solicitors and one of the best bits is actually having your own files to manage.”
