Positive growth in Commercial Property
Positive Signs of Growth in Commercial Property Transactions
According to a report published in June 2019 based on Land Registry data, there are currently positive signs of growth in the commercial property sector.
The report published by Search Acumen provides a list of areas in England and Wales that experienced more than £1billion of real estate investments in 2018 together with a further list of the top 10 areas based on volumes of transactions in the same period.
Whilst most of the first list is unsurprisingly made up of London Boroughs, there are positive signs of a strong market in cities outside of the capital including Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham and Nottingham.
The positive news continues in the second list where numbers of transactions show significant increases in 8 out of the 10 areas with the highest number of transactions (compared with 2016 figures) with one further area having a modest increase in the number of transactions and only one area experiencing a decrease.
The largest numbers of transactions are seen primarily in cities outside of London further demonstrating a buoyant market outside of the capital.
Closer to home, the market in Kent is also seeing positive results with the 2018 Kent Property Market Report suggesting overall economic output would experience growth in 2018 as a whole. One notable figure was an overall increase in commercial rents of 16% ahead of the pre-financial crisis peak.
The commercial property market remains busy with specific infrastructure and development projects in Kent aiding steady growth in the local area.
