Connor Martin
Connor joined the firm in February 2021. He is currently working in the Commercial Property department within our Gillingham office having completed his training contract and recently qualifying as a solicitor.
What Connor says:
I studied law at the University of Surrey where I graduated in 2019. I enrolled on the Legal Practice Course with Masters at the University of Law shortly after on a full-time basis where I graduated in 2020 with a Distinction.
Since finishing my studies, I was working full time as an Electrical Labourer whilst applying for jobs roles in law. I joined Martin Tolhurst in February 2021 as an Office Administrator helping the team with a number of administrative duties in a very busy period with the Stamp Duty holiday. In June 2021, I was delighted to hear that Martin Tolhurst wanted to take me on as a trainee solicitor.
During my training contract, I gained extensive knowledge in Property Law by fee earning in residential conveyancing and then going onto assisting fee earners in Commercial Property and Property disputes with their work. I qualified as a Solicitor on 20th September 2023 and gladly accepted a position in the Commercial Property team at Martin Tolhurst as a full time Solicitor from 21st September 2023.
Outside of work, I like to spend my time challenging myself through gym work and running. To assist with these physical activities, I have recently taken up yoga, which I have found to be a remarkable way to find peace at the end of a busy work day. I am very fond of traveling and experiencing different cultures. My next trip booked is a holiday in the sunshine state of Florida, which will involve a lot of rollercoasters and delicious food!
If I were not a lawyer….
I would be in a position which also is very challenging and impacts people in a positive way. I believe a teaching role in History would make a lot sense as it was a subject I really enjoyed and teaching in general is a very rewarding career.
If I were stranded on a desert island and could take three books with me…
I would take one very large book to use for fire, one book that showed me how to survive on a desert island and one book that showed me how to get off a desert island.
